1st lesson in life: It’s not fair..
It’s also not fair to blame corp America..If you have a brain, a will and a passion, this country’s system allows you the opportunity to have more financial security than other other system in the world. sure it’s nt perfect, but it’s always working on improvement, and it’s far better than the socialized drivvle you are a fan of..
too bad you’ll always be using excuses than to realize that.

Speak for yourself.
Plenty of us are financially secure.
No one told you to spend beyond your means. You have only yourself to blame for your irresponsibility.
Tommy
It’s pretty freakin’ great, actually!

Don’t forget that the income of a CEO has increased 40 times in the past 6 years. There really is a war on the middle class.

Unless inflation someday makes the dollar totally worthless, I have nothing to worry about.
I have no debt, my only bills are gas, electric, phone and water.
Right now I am saving up so I can quit my job as a nuclear engineer and start my own business, a winery.

Americans have been brain-washed into thinking they’re free.
Come on down to Cuba, I’ll show you a free people.

Capitalism does not over spend, we do that.
You should know that.

OK why do Libs make up their own facts?
Look, there are facts on this, and they don’t support you.

Gee, I must be the exception to the rule. I worked all of my life and saved on a regular basis. Today I am 63, retired, own a beautiful home with no mortgage, a new car for which I paid cash, have no outstanding credit card bills, and just returned from a 10 day vacation in Central America. While you are moaning about “Fascist corporate Capitalism,” some of us are ensuring that we get all we can from working within the system. Grow up, get a job, and save your money! Good luck to you

We may all be living in the red, yet most of us have nice houses, cars, lives really. Is it quantity of life or quallity?
Gail

I agree, I don’t understand why many people equate having a lot of stuff with being well off (especially stuff that is really owned by the bank). Most of the stuff they have has very little real value (a car is a car is a car, it’s value is getting you from point A to point B, not in the logo on its’ body). Even houses are a waste, I’m in the market at the moment and all the homes in a resort area with a lot of retirees are all giant, why do I need a big house? Why do I want to heat and cool a lot of empty rooms? I don’t need to impress anyone.

And your point is what, exactly?
Just because people are foolish with their debts doesn’t make the capitialist system a bad one.
Tell you what – let’s do an equal distribution of the wealth. I’ll go home and watch TV all day, and you can work and send me a check.

If I didn’t have it this good, I wouldn’t work here. Nobody is forced to work for corporate America. If corporate America did not provide jobs at a reasonable rate, then the employees wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) work there.
Marcia
Not much, just watch an episode of fox news!

Hey, it’s your responsibility to secure your own financial security.
My first job was a bill collector by phone on dead beat accounts, that showed me that if I couldn’t pay for I couldn’t afford it.
You dig your own hole with credit.
Lloyd
Sounds to me like you didn’t realize “Equal” meant equal opportunity instead of if I don’t have, you are supposed to give me. If your picture isn’t good, realize you have have made bad choices and have negative consequences as a result of that, and change things.
I paid off a 30 year mortgage in 5 years, saved a bunch of interest by doing that, had a job with an excellent retirement plan, actually retired early, started social security when I could and I’m not doing bad at all, thank you. I pay my credit card bills in full when they come in, have a totally free checking account that pays interest on the balance, and own my own business. If any aspect of the business doesn’t make a profit, I make changes until it does.
Turn off the computer, and start on your own personal road to financial security.
Derek
when will you start to makse sense? What will it take?
Alma
My mortgage is less than half the value of my house (thanks GWB!) , I carry no credit card debt, I own my cars. My savings, including 401K, IRAs and other investments have been growing on a quarterly basis (thanks again GWB!) so I could pay off my outstanding debt, including mortgage, without touching much of the principle.
I have a stable job in a a stable industry. I have an excellent education in a career that is in demand.
There is no such thing however as Fascist corporate Capitalism. You should study more about the US. Maybe you can get a visa and visit or study here to see that your preconceived ideas about this nation are false.
Charlene
uhmm you are talking about long term planning. thats not an american Ideal. When the checks stop paying the minimum due on the 21% interest rate credit card or when the OMG ARM mortgage goes up exactly like it said it would in the document I signed thats when we are financially insecure. Financial security is a paycheck.
Danny
They say that the average American is just two paycheques away from homelessness. So I guess that it would take a loss of a family’s income to see how quickly they turn into the homeless that are disparaged so frequently on this forum. Hey, maybe it would be a good exercise. Then we’ll see how much people would support National Healthcare. Socialism be damned…I need help!
Judy
This, coming from a guy who has never been to America. We do just fine over here in the States. Let us worry about ourselves.
