Nope. Getting a mortgage will have to do with the type of income you have when you actually apply for that mortgage.</description>

The previous answer looks good.  If you continue to pay your bills on time and don&#039;t &quot;max-out&quot; your credit cards and maintain the same debt/income ratios being on unemployment won&#039;t affect your credit.

however, employment history is a factor in getting a mortgage as well.  They will ask about work history for the past two years or so then ask about previous employment if it was less than two years.

if you still maintain good credit, and you have a steady job at the time you apply, you should be OK.</description>
