My fiancee is going through the usda program for newyork and he just recieved his mortage commitment 2/12 weeks ago, they told him that it would be 2-3 weeks before he could receive the money and make an actual closing date. The whole process has taken foreverrrr he put in for the loan application back on aug 8th its just been a drawn out stressfull situation. anyone else going though the same thing and how long is it takin for your funds to come in?

    Rural Development has to secure funds from the federal govt. every once in a while. When they run out, it takes weeks, even months, for them to secure new funds which means it could take a while to receive a committment from the lender.

    Historically, anything involving the government has to be cumbersome and void of any sense of urgency for the end user. Of course, getting government backed loans in no exception. Unfortunately, this is very typical and there is nothing you can do to speed this along.
